CINEMA & SOUVLAKI

Featuring Indian Film ‘BUN TIKKI’

We will screen the Greek premiere of the Indian film Bun Tikki, presented by Bollywood star Abhay Deol and writer/director Fazan Arif Ansari. The event will be a unique cultural experience that celebrates Indian culture through a music collaboration between Greek musician and percussionist Alekos Roupas and Abhay Deol as DJ. The evening will also involve an educational activation for children around mental health themes with local schools reflect the universal themes in Bun Tikki. This special presentation also kicks off our artists’ residency program:  a month-long residency with Indian actor and producer Abhay Deol, who will work with the local community on acting workshops and wellness initiatives while we also produce the next film. We are also welcoming Indian artist Annu Adavart, who will present her own exhibition and collaborate with local artists and the community for a cultural and creative exchange.

International Animated Short Film Showcase

ARE WE DOING THIS?

Together with Greek filmmaker Antonis Sotiropoulos and our cultural partner, the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, we have planned a local teenager workshop to celebrate how Hydra’s cultural identity was also shaped by Cacoyannis’ Greek works — most notably Girl in Black (1956), the only film the acclaimed director ever shot on Hydra. We also plan to announce a local music workshop with Greek music agent George Christopoulos to honor the legacy of Greek composer and lyricist Michail “Mikis” Theodorakis, credited with over 1,000 works and the dedicatee of the Ministry of Culture’s 2025 Cultural Year. Renowned for scoring Electra, Zorba the Greek, and Phaedra (partially filmed on Hydra and starring the beloved Greek actress Melina Mercouri).
