An intimate welcome evening at the historic Gardenia Cinema, where 145 invite-only guests will enjoy cocktails, wine, beer, and live music in a warm, celebratory setting. Located in the island’s main port and screening films since the 1940s, this iconic open-air cinema under the stars offers a timeless backdrop for ArtCinema Hydra’s opening night.

Following the Opening Night presentation of the Greek premiere of a standout international film fresh from the festival circuit, guests will come together to celebrate bold storytelling and the power of cinema at an invitation-only after party, where event patrons will receive private introductions to the filmmakers and a public acknowledgement of their commitment to Film and the Arts. 

For our early birds, ArtCinema will host breakfasts celebrating Hydra’s literary spirit and the island’s enduring connection to poetry & writing.

Featured poets will include Yiannis Gavalis, a former marine sailor turned poet, and John Holgerson, who first came to Hydra in 1970 in hopes of meeting Leonard Cohen.

Following the evening’s screenings, ArtCinema guests will continue their Day 2 experience with exclusive cocktails at one of Hydra's many picturesque venues.

An exclusive and extraordinary evening that brings together filmmakers, artists, patrons, and changemakers in support of ArtCinema’s key causes. This seated multi-course dinner replete with custom commissioned ceramic table settings by a local artist, will feature presentations to honorees.

A climactic farewell to the three-day ArtCinema event, Cinema & Souvlaki brings together the local community and island guests for an unforgettable night of Souvlaki and open-air screenings, in the Greek spirit of the Panagiri tradition.

Guests will be invited to closing late-night drinks at Amalour, another of Hydra’s cherished open-air cocktail spots. It’s the perfect opportunity to unwind and say goodbye to new friends, wrapping up our weekend in a relaxed, unforgettable setting.
